So I prepared 2 editions of my 2014 favorite investments. Posts which are dedicated to the best beauty products and fashion pieces I have bought during 2014.
I’ve tried them, loved them and will definitely continue using them during 2015 and many years to come..
It is indeed about time to finally share these investments.
So scroll down and let’s get this party started!
Revlon’s Photo Finish Skinlights Face Illuminator:
This was probably the first thing I bought during the past year, and honestly speaking.. I was a bit hesitant to buy it at first but got it anyway and I am so happy that I did.
I basically apply it after my primer and under my foundation to give my skin this bright and dewy finish.. It was the perfect companion for my summer makeup and I still wear it during winter but only around the areas of my face that I wish to highlight.
Maybeline’s Fit Me Pressed Powder:
On my recent trip to the states, I decided that I don’t like the foundation stick I use for conturing anymore. So, I looked for something much lighter and did not suffocate my skin.
I came across Maybeline’s Fit Me pressed powder. And, after couple of swatches I settled for Mocha.
Mocha, is 3 shades darker than my natural skin color. and because of that I wear it under my foundation for a subtle finish and sometimes use it as a bronzer too.
Curly Wurly Shampoo by Lush:
I am a proud owner of a thick wavy hair and may I add, dyed.
Given the above, and since I live on an island; it is only natural for my hair to be super duper frizzy. I have tried so many hair products, that only tire my hair and weigh it down, and sometimes make it look unhealthy and oily at the roots.. ew!
One day and out of the blue, I decided that my hair deserves much better and a healthier approach is a must! So, I head down to the nearest Lush boutique and bought a container of their coconut shampoo.
Now, my hair loves me for it and I don’t have to use anything other than my shampoo, conditioner and my heat protectant when styling. thats it!
Urban Decay’s De-Slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray:
I’ve tried so many setting sprays and unfortunately they always end up breaking me out.
But with De-Slick, things have been going great so far.
My makeup lasts up to 9 hours and I don’t even need to re-touch anything except for my lipstick when needed..
Other than that, my foundation, blusher and concealer stay intact, which it heavenly.
Oh! and I have lately discovered if I spray it after my primer and before my foundation it created a flawless canvas for makeup. Yay!
Huda Beauty’s False Lashes: (Available at Sephora around the GCC)
I don’t normally wear false lashes, unless it’s for a photoshoot or a super formal event of some sort.. Cause I simply hate this uncomfortable sensation of having something stuck on my eyelids. and if I may add, they always make me look cross eyed for some reason..
So, on a wintery friday night I had a wedding to attend.
Realizing that I forgot to pack my favorite falsies, I rushed to the nearest Sephora shop and picked up a pack of Huda Beauty’s Giselle lashes.
To my surprise, the lashes were super comfy that I forgot I had them on in the first place, and I wore them the following day for another event and the day after to a video shoot!
I can’t believe I am actually saying this, but now I look forward to the next time I get to wear them. These are seriously top of the line.
Make Up For Ever’s HD Primer:
Being constantly in front of cameras, I needed something that is invisible even under the most magnified HD lens. Cause no one want’s a cakey face caught on camera right?
So, I purchased this HD primer as a try out.
I haven’t got it for long to judge it but so far I like using it. And I feel it preps my skin perfectly for a seamless makeup application, it even deeply nourishes my skin, making it look flawless under the lights.
So there you go. A list of my 2014 favorite beauty investments! Talk to me and let me know what were your best beauty investments, and what are you planing on purchasing this year?
